Ashton was founded in 1983 by Bill Ashton-Taylor after nearly 25 years at Dunhill. His patented briar oil-curing method produced lighter pipes with a clean, nutty flavor. Each pipe was handcrafted using briar personally selected in Italy. After his passing in 2009, his apprentice Jim Craig took over the workshop, preserving the craftsmanship and quality that define the Ashton name.
