C-Pipes

C-Pipes is a contemporary artisan pipe brand founded in China in 2012 by Wilson Wang, following several years of involvement in the pipe world as a smoker, collector, and importer in the Asian market.

The project was conceived with a clear focus on fully handmade, freehand pipes, combining European design influences—particularly from the modern Danish school—with a distinct, contemporary approach. Each pipe is made individually and by hand; while the pieces are not signed by a specific maker, they are unified under a shared brand identity rather than individual authorship.

Production and approach

C-Pipes operates as a collective artisan structure, with a team of craftsmen working under a common aesthetic and technical direction. This allows the brand to maintain consistency in quality and design while preserving the unique, non-serial nature of each pipe.

The emphasis is placed on balance, lightness, and comfort in use, with clean, modern forms designed for regular, reliable smoking rather than decorative display.

Materials

C-Pipes are made from Italian briar and fitted with German ebonite or cumberland stems. In some designs, additional materials such as bamboo, horn, or boxwood are used. Finishes include smooth, sandblasted, and a dedicated line of lacquered pipes.

Positioning

C-Pipes occupies a space within contemporary artisan pipe making, aimed at smokers who value handmade, freehand pipes with modern design, solid construction, and dependable smoking qualities, without reliance on historic narratives or individual maker signatures.
