Jan Pipes Hand Cut

Jan Klouček has been producing pipes under the brand JanPipes since 1999. He learned the craft directly in his hometown, the French city of Saint-Claude.

Initially, the story of his workshop may seem short, but now he collaborates with distinguished foreign partners, and JanPipes have garnered the interest of Czech and international customers. During the formation of his workshop, close contact with the distinguished French company Chacom was crucial. Its owner, Mr. Yves Grenard, greatly assisted him in the early stages of pipe production and became his most important expert advisor.

Together, they transferred a part of the French pipe production tradition to Bohemia. Jan Klouček continues the local tradition of pipe production in Kostelec nad Černými lesy, where he established his workshop. In pipe production, he considers mastering the craft to be the most important foundation for freehand creation. To perfect this craft, he has produced over a hundred thousand pipes during the existence of his company, the majority being classic shapes. Later, he began producing exclusive pipes.

He divides his manufacturing program into two basic groups: Standard Pipes and lines of exclusive models. The standard line consists of firm, classic, and conservative design shapes, all in different finishes and colors. The standard line is primarily intended for the Czech market. The highlight of his production is, of course, the exclusive pipes. These are highly creative designs inspired by architectural, technical, or natural motifs. The wood grain and the quality of the briar play a very important role in the design of these pipes, carefully chosen for each one. Exclusive pipes bring pleasure even to the most discerning pipe smokers. They are entirely handmade in limited series or as unique pieces.
